On June 2nd 2010, our friend
John Baranzano lost a year-long battle with gastric cancer. Affectionately know
as "MrB", John was a person who would say what was on his mind. John was known
for his kindness, his infectious grin, his wry and sometimes wacky sense of
humor, his willingness to help with all matters technical, his unique renditions
of Frank Zappa tunes and his great love of St. John and of animals.
During the final days of John's too-short life, friends reached out to him and
his wife Amy in a tribute which all hoped would ease John's suffering and lift
up Amy for what was ahead. People from all over the world whose lives had been
touched by John paid him tribute via the internet using photos, words and music.
This sharing of memories, love, hope and grief touched many hearts.
The news of John's passing hit hard. The wave of grief and loss soon turned to
talk of hope that MrB's friends could remember him in a way that would honor him
and the things that he loved.
The group "John Friends" is a result of this hope that John's spirit and
kindness will be remembered.
Whether you have the privilege of having known John Baranzano in person, through
the internet or as a result of this page, we hope you will join John Friends in
contributing to the Animal Care Center of St. John to provide much-needed
funding for the people who are trying to care for neglected, abused and homeless
four-legged creatures on St. John. This helps continue John's legacy for caring
for animals the way he did in his pet sitting and dog walking business, Bow Wows
& Meows, http://bowwowandmeow.com/
We hope that John would be
delighted that we are honoring him in this way.
As John's father Jay Baranzano wrote "He fought a fight he could not win, but
never gave up." The tribute to MrB can be seen

Your donations will be used by the Animal Care Center to purchase items on their
wish list like dry and canned food, water and food dishes, and cleaning
supplies. The total contributions from "John Friends" will be totaled
periodically and listed below.
